In 1974, the very first Ronald McDonald House was built with the simple premise that families shouldn’t have to worry about where to stay, how they will feed their family, or feel isolated when their child is in the hospital. We are here to ensure you don’t face this journey alone and can focus on what matters most – your child.
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE FAMILY ROOM: UAMS is located on the same floor as the hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This location helps keep families nearby when their baby is in the NICU. Steps from their baby’s room, families will find a welcoming space and the friendly faces of our compassionate staff and dedicated volunteers.
All services are provided at no cost to families. Ronald McDonald House Family Room: UAMS, which opened in 2020, was the first in-hospital Ronald McDonald House in Central Arkansas. It includes the following amenities:Four private overnight suites

DAY SERVICES
Even if you aren’t staying with us overnight, if your child is hospitalized at UAMS, you are welcome to visit during the day: Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday-Sunday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. No reservation is required.
Registered daytime guests are welcome to unwind in our common areas, take a refreshing shower, and make use of our complimentary laundry facilities, kitchenette, coffee bar, and snacks. There is also a small play area for young children.
Please note that standard health and safety protocols regarding contagious illnesses are in effect. Additionally, all guests must present a valid photo ID at check-in.
