Meals from the Heart

Our Meals from the Heart program invites individuals and small groups to provide freshly prepared, nightly meals to families in the Ronald McDonald House.  Volunteers prepare or deliver dinners, enabling families to eat together without the stress of cooking or the expense of dining out. 

When families have a hospitalized child, the last thing they need to worry about is how they will feed their family. Thanks to our generous Meals from the Heart volunteers, families can focus on their child. 

Meals can be prepared in our fully-equipped kitchens, sponsored, or catered from a restaurant and delivered to the program of choice. The number of meals needed varies by program.  

NOTE:  As you prepare dinner, you may notice that many families are not at Ronald McDonald House when the meal is served. Most are at the hospital, spending precious time at their child’s bedside. When they return later in the evening – often hungry, exhausted, and emotionally drained – they are deeply grateful to find a homemade meal waiting for them that can be easily reheated.  Although you may not have the opportunity to meet the families you are serving, please know that your kindness makes a lasting difference. A warm meal at the end of a long day provides not only nourishment, but also comfort, care, and a reminder that they are not alone. Thank you!
